Specialized Audiology

Specialized audiology assesses hearing through more advanced tests, ideal for patients who are difficult to evaluate with traditional methods. These tests help diagnose hearing disorders and nervous system conditions related to hearing.

Auditory Evoked Potentials (AEP)

AEP - Threshold Mode:

Evaluates high frequencies (4000 Hz). Duration: 1 hour. It is recommended that minors attend sleep-deprived.

AEP - Topodiagnosis

Helps locate the damage along the path of sound to the brain. Duration: 1 hour. It is recommended that minors attend sleep-deprived.

AEP - Steady State

Evaluates speech frequencies (500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz, 4000 Hz). Duration: 1 hour. It is recommended that minors attend sleep-deprived.

Electrocochleography

Measures pressure in the inner ear. It is a non-invasive and painless procedure. Duration: 1 hour. Vertigo medication must be discontinued 24 hours before the test.
